The Blue Anchor Golf Society are based at Wrea Green Institute, in the village of Wrea Green. Our previous location was the now demolished Blue Anchor Pub, Greenhalgh, Lancashire.
The Blue Anchor Golf Society was formed in 1996 by Alex Bilsborrow, David Tomlinson and Phil Afful. The Society started with a membership of six people, and within two years it had grown to a membership of 16. Since then, it has developed to its current size and maintained full membership.
Our current membership is capped at 36, we do have vacancies available for new prospective members wishing to join us. The Society plays a wide-range of courses in the UK, running three tours each year, Scotland, Spring Tour and Europe.
The social calender is also a feature for the Society, with dinners and presentation evenings for members and their families.
